The Local Project returns for the new year with Media Ghost, a band that mixes elements of prog-rock, 80s synths, and a Lou Reed guitar into a no-wave foundation. Buddy Shumaker (Vocals, guitar, keyboards), Joe Zydiak (bass), and Seth Donnely (drums) came in to talk about the no-wave style and how they blend it in with their own far-flung influences, their writing process, and the lines between studio performances and live performances.
Part 1: History of Media Ghost
Part 4: New Recordings and the Writing Process
You can hear some of Media Ghost’s music at their Band Camp page, and hopefully some finished mixes of the four songs recorded at their Webster studio session will be available soon. You can also see them live tomorrow night at Off Broadway with with Various Hands and Clockwork, and also at The Heavy Anchor on Friday March 9th. And as always, you can keep track of new shows and releases on their Facebook page.
